 1 can black beans (15 oz drained and rinsed)
 ½ cup breadcrumbs
 ¼ cup grated carrots
 ¼ cup onions (finely chopped)
 2 garlic cloves (minced)
 1 tbsp soy sauce
 1 tbsp olive oil (for cooking)
 1 tsp ground cumin
 1 tsp smoked paprika
 Salt and pepper to taste
 Optional: Vegan cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and vegan mayo for serving

In a large mixing bowl, mash the black beans until mostly smooth, leaving some chunks for texture.

Add breadcrumbs, grated carrot, chopped onion, minced garlic, soy sauce, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.

Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into burger patties.

In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown and crispy.
